Telangana Ensures Urea Supply, Orders Crop Loss Survey in 5 Days

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao assured farmers that the state government is taking all necessary steps to ensure the timely supply of fertilizers. He announced that 9,000 metric tonnes of urea were supplied to the state in a single day, with another 5,000 metric tonnes expected to arrive shortly. Over the next week, an additional 27,470 metric tonnes will be delivered through ports including Karaikal, Gangavaram, and Dahej. The minister confirmed that the fertilizer would be distributed across key railway rake points such as Sanathnagar, Warangal, Jadcherla, Nagireddypally, Miryalaguda, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad to avoid any shortages for farmers.

He directed officials to ensure that fertilizers are distributed smoothly, in line with local demand, so that farmers do not face any difficulties during the cultivation season. He emphasized strict coordination among departments to make urea available promptly wherever it is needed.

Alongside fertilizer management, the minister also addressed the issue of crop losses due to recent heavy rains. He instructed officials to complete a damage survey within five days and submit a detailed report to facilitate timely compensation. The minister underlined that the government’s priority is to safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure they receive necessary assistance without delay.

Reiterating the state’s commitment, Tummala Nageswara Rao said that farmer welfare and crop protection remain central to government policy, and every step will be taken to prevent hardships to the agricultural community.
