KTR Defends KCR’s Legacy, Says Telangana Prospered Under BRS Rule

BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly defended former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), stating that Telangana experienced its true golden era under his leadership. Highlighting the irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram, Mallanna Sagar, and Kondapochamma Sagar, KTR said they transformed Telangana into a fertile state and secured Hyderabad’s drinking water needs for the next five decades. He criticized the demand for a CBI probe against KCR, calling it an insult, and alleged that both Congress and BJP were attempting to tarnish KCR’s reputation through politically motivated cases.

Welcoming senior Congress leader Prabhakar Rao from Manuguru into the BRS along with his followers, KTR asserted that no leader in India had achieved the scale of development that KCR delivered within a decade. He pointed out that despite global challenges like the pandemic, KCR never stopped welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, pensions, and salaries, even when the state’s revenues dropped. In contrast, KTR accused the present Congress government under CM Revanth Reddy of failing in governance, leaving farmers in distress, and creating artificial shortages of urea fertilizer.

KTR further alleged that Congress has lost credibility, as people already regret electing them after just 21 months of rule, with many openly saying “things were better under KCR.” He accused Revanth Reddy of damaging the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office with irresponsible remarks, while also failing to fulfill election promises. He reminded Singareni coal miners of KCR’s contributions, from welfare measures to employment assurances, and admitted the party would review internal gaps that led to electoral setbacks in the region.

Calling for unity within the BRS, KTR urged leaders and cadres to put aside differences and prepare for upcoming local body, Assembly, and Parliament elections. He declared that the people of Telangana would once again recognize KCR’s value and bring him back as Chief Minister to restore stability and development.
